Buckeye

Buckeye is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, and is the westernmost suburb in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. It sits at roughly 33.37° N, 112.59° W and is one of the largest cities in the state by land area.

Schools

Buckeye Elementary School District 33 serves the community with seven K-8 schools, feeding into the Buckeye Union High School District, which serves Buckeye and the far southern part of Goodyear with three comprehensive high schools (Buckeye Union, Estrella Foothills, and Youngker) plus an alternative school. The Agua Fria Union High School District also serves parts of Buckeye through Canyon View High School and Verrado High School, with a school locator tool available on its website. The Saddle Mountain Unified School District covers portions of Buckeye along with the Tonopah and Wintersburg areas. Skyline Regional Park is an 8,700-acre mountain preserve at the southern edge of the White Tank Mountains with more than 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The city's Visit Buckeye page also lists the Arizona Cycle Park, an off-road park for dirt bikes and UTVs, Skyline Regional Park with free admission and outdoor classes, and White Tank Mountain Regional Park and Nature Center near petroglyph sites. The Arlington Wildlife Area stretches 1,500 acres along the Gila River, and Robbins Butte Wildlife Area is a 1,600-acre riparian habitat along the same river. Golf is available at the Victory Course at Verrado Golf Club, in the foothills of the White Tank Mountains.
