Sun City West is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Maricopa County, Arizona, located about 23 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix and bordered on the south, west, and north by the city of Surprise. It is a age-restricted, master-planned community built by the Del Webb Corporation, covering roughly 12 square miles with a 2020 population of 25,806.

Getting around
U.S. Route 60 runs along the southwest border of the community, and Arizona State Route 303 bounds it to the north and northwest. Sun City West is located 23 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix. The community's location is described as about 45 minutes from downtown Phoenix and a short distance from Luke Air Force Base, with a freeway network providing access to the Valley of the Sun, including Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
